Tim Hortons’ franchise owner Kelly Moores, center, was pleased to join his staff in presenting a $5,500 cheque to Fiona Harris (left) of the Shuswap Hospital Foundation. These were the proceeds from the recent Tim Hortons Smile Cookie Campaign, which Kelly Moores donated to the Foundation to help with the purchase of much-needed priority equipment to enhance the care of patients and residents of Shuswap health care facilities and services. Thank you!… Our heartfelt thanks to Save-On-Foods and Shaw Go Team who partnered to raise money for the Shuswap Hospital Foundation. Kelly Frink from Shaw, and Randall Bamford of Save-On-Foods, together organized a fun day for kids and great information for the adults. The hot dog sales, combined with funds donated from the Shaw Communication sales, raised a total of $800.00 for the Shuswap Hospital Foundation. The Bradfords have once again displayed their creativity by encouraging their customers to try their Quesadillas at the Pub.

Their ‘spoon tree’ is another great customer driven campaign that benefits the Hospital when a donation is made to obtain one of the spoons. The Shuswap Hospital Foundation was very saddened with the passing of Joy Johnston. Joy and her husband Lloyd have been very generous supporters of the Foundation and we are proud to recognize them as Patrons of the Foundation.
Joy was a Registered Nurse who served patients at the Shuswap Lake General Hospital for many years and continued to do so after her retirement serving as a volunteer greeter on a regular basis. She was very active with the Shuswap Lake Health Care Auxiliary and contributed her time and energy without reservation in so many ways.
1928~2012 Dorothy Genevieve Longdo born Ribstone Alberta. Dorothy was an outstanding teacher and taught in five different provinces as she and her husband Vern moved about following his mining engineering profession. Education was her passion, and she was a very effective and respected teacher. Dorothy was dedicated to her family and found the time and energy to be active in her communities volunteering. Her fellow volunteers also became her good friends Vernon D. Longdo and his wife Dorothy have been long time and generous supporters as Benefactors of the Hospital Foundation.
