Bill Douhaniuk is one of our thoughtful and giving Benefactors who recently made a generous share donation to the Shuswap Hospital Foundation.  Bill moved to Salmon Arm in 1989 and farmed in this area for many years.  He has since sold his farm but continues to be an avid reader and he enjoys connecting with old friends.  Over the years Bill has given of his time for the betterment of others and has been a loyal and generous supporter of the Hospital Foundation.  We are most grateful for his commitment …read more

Dr. Maureen McTavish New Benefactor

Rotary Club of Salmon Arm

A wonderfully generous donation of $10,000 from the Rotary Club of Salmon Arm helped to kick off the Shuswap Hospital Foundation Fall Campaign. Rotary President Norm Brown presented the cheque to Shuswap Hospital Foundation President Doug Murray, at the Campaign launch in Piccadilly Mall. Salmon Arm Lions Club

Our heartfelt thanks to the members of the Salmon Arm Lions Club for their most generous donation of $20,000 to the Shuswap Hospital Foundation. We are truly grateful to the Salmon Arm Lions for their wonderful support. Tim Hortons $6,000 Donation

The Tim Hortons Smile Cookie Campaign put smiles on the faces of everyone!. Thank you to Kelly Moores and the wonderful staff at Tim Hortons Salmon Arm and Sicamous locations for their hard work and to the generous folks who purchased cookies and helped to raise a total of $6,000 for the Shuswap Hospital Foundation. Foundation Board President, Doug Murray and Director of Development, Fiona Harris were thrilled to be presented with the donation at Tim Hortons. Wedding of Sze Yan and Thomas Arnold

Wedding bells are ringing! When Sze Yan Leslie and Thomas Arnold were married on September 13, 2014, at the Prestige Inn, Salmon Arm, BC, they found a wonderful way to celebrate the happy occasion. Sze Yan and Thomas informed their wedding guests that any cash gifts presented at the wedding reception would be donated to the Shuswap Hospital Foundation. Cherries for Charity!

What a great idea!…..Cherries for Charity! These folks decided that they would get together and pick as many cherries as they could in order to make a charitable donation. The Shuswap Hospital Foundation received a very generous $1,500 donation from Chris and Marg Parfitt, Nick and Jane Parson, K.J. and Alex Seal, all of Salmon Arm, and Glenn and Joan Willing of Victoria.

The Shuswap Hospital Foundation is so very appreciative of the hard work they all put in to raise these funds and then donate them to the Foundation. We thank them for their thoughtfulness and generous spirit!.

Richard Shinde Donation

Mr. Richard Shinde of Richmond recently took the time to remind us all that the hard work and dedication of the healthcare team are truly appreciated. In recognition of the excellent care he received during a five-day spell in the ICU at the Shuswap Lake General Hospital, he made a generous Grateful Patient donation to the Shuswap Hospital Foundation. Mr. Shinde writes that he “will never forget the care and attention of [Shuswap Lake General Hospital’s] health professionals”. Salmon Arm Pickleball Club

The Salmon Arm Pickleball Club generously donated $200, the proceeds from a recent Pickleball tournament to the Shuswap Hospital Foundation to be designated toward the purchase of much needed equipment for the Shuswap Lake General Hospital. Linda Brown, an ex nurse at the Shuswap Lake General Hospital, is shown presenting the monies to Fiona Harris, Director of Development of the Shuswap Hospital Foundation. A big thank you to those members of the Salmon Arm Pickleball Club for their kind donation.

Sorrento Lions Club Donation

Sorrento Lions Club Treasurer John Howat views the Recognition Wall in the Shuswap Lake General Hospital. A Big “Thank You” to the Sorrento Lions Club.

Several years ago the Sorrento Lions Club donated a bequest of $175,000 from Catherine Dilworth, a former nurse. Since that time, the Sorrento Lions have been raising funds for the Shuswap Hospital Foundation and to date their total donation now stands at $180,000!
