Through generous donations from wonderful donors, much-needed equipment has been purchased for the Shuswap Lake General Hospital. The CT Scanner purchased in 2009 has been instrumental in bringing the best possible patient care to the Shuswap area. One of our objectives for this year is to purchase a CT Scan Upgrade to optimize efficiency and clarity of scans.

Del Vaughan was born Sept 1, 1935 on a farm near Saltcoats, Saskatchewan and grew up in the village of Bangor. He spent much time with his cousins who lived on nearby farms and in the Pool Elevator where his father worked. Del graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. It was at the U of S that he met his wife Mid, a nursing student there. They were married on October 4, 1958 and had a son, Darcy.

Cancer survivor Rose Mainprize has been an inspiration to all her friends and fellow 2009 grad classmates during her fight for life from lung cancer. To support her treatments in 2012, a fundraising campaign was launched, including a live auction. Fundraising Coordinator Colleen Making reports that as a result of the success of Rose’s recovery and donations made on her behalf, they wish to establish a permanent ‘Rose Fund’ as a tribute to her courage and determination. $2,400 of the fund will be directed to the Oncology Department at the Shuswap Lake Hospital, for which a Symbic Infusion Device is …read more
