A Century of giving has meant so much.
In the spring of 2010 when the hospital expansion building opens we will be celebrating 100 years of hospital care in the Shuswap. The first care home was established in Enderby in 1910, followed by Chase, then Salmon Arm in 1912. From those early days, community minded people and hospital auxiliaries have initiated fundraising activities for patient comforts and care; to this day those needs have not diminished. We have accomplished a great deal with your generosity; in addition to the 24 million dollar IHA hospital expansion, over 3 million dollars has been raised for the CT scanner and other state of the art equipment for the ER, Diagnostic Imaging and the OR, Trauma rooms, Pediatrics care, Cardiac monitoring units and special items for the Lab & Pharmacy.
2010 Centennial Salute Wall
The Centennial Salute recognition wall is located on the outside wall beside the new Emergency entrance. Those who made a contribution by December 31, 2009 will have their name(s) included on the wall at the time of the official opening date in the spring of 2010 however, donations will continue to be accepted for this campaign up to the end of 2010. The additional 2010 panels will go up in the Spring of 2011.
Over 55,000 residents required services of the Shuswap Lake Hospital last year, in the ER, Diagnostic Imaging, OR, day surgeries, plus Therapy and Ambulatory care.
If you have already made a donation this year, thank you!
