David Barnard became a newly elected Shuswap Hospital Foundation Board member at the September 10, 2014, AGM. Dave was born in Salmon Arm and attended Carlin, J.L. Jackson and the Salmon Arm Senior High schools, graduating in 1970. He attended Simon Fraser University and University of Victoria, graduating in 1976 with a Bachelors’ Degree in Economics. Dave articled with KPMG and received designation as a Chartered Account in 1981. He enjoyed a career working in public practice with Collins Barrow in the Salmon Arm area until 1997 and then in the Forest Seedling Sector until retirement in 2014. Dave is married to Micheline Houle and they have four adult children, two of whom reside in Salmon Arm. Interests include all sports, both as a participant, coach and spectator. Past involvement includes the Salmon Arm Nature Enhancement Society and the development of three ball parks at Elks Field. Retirement plans include more travel and kicking back in the Shuswap.
