From time to time persons are recognized by their friends for some contribution they have made by making a contribution in their honour. When those contribution reach a total of $2000 the Foundation prepares an In Honour Tribute to them

Wedding Sze Yan and Thomas Arnold Salmon Arm, BC September 13, 2014

Wedding bells are ringing! When Sze Yan Leslie and Thomas Arnold were married on September 13, 2014, at the Prestige Inn, Salmon Arm, BC, they found a wonderful way to celebrate the happy occasion. Sze Yan and Thomas informed their wedding guests that any cash gifts presented at the wedding reception would be donated to the Shuswap Hospital Foundation. Gordon and Bev Marshall Donors to Shuswap Hospital Foundation

Bev Marshall & Family are major contributors to the community. With her husband Gordon they were part of supporting all kinds of community activities. They were very interested in health care for the community. Gordon served on the Hospital’s Board of Directors while Bev was an active member of the Hospital Auxiliary putting in countless hours of volunteer time.

Drs Michel Saab & Maureen McTavish are honoured this day in recognition of their dedication and knowledge. Dr McTavish for recognizing the source of a troubling condition as a probable colon cancer and Dr Saab whose skillful hands and quieting manner dealt with the problem surgically. Both of these individuals deserve more thanks than can possibly be expressed by one of their so grateful patients.

Clara Overend is honoured on this occasion as very loving and supportive wife, who was an example of generosity to her family and the community. Never wanting recognition she was always supportive of the efforts of her family. A quiet stalwart of community life.

In Honour of Rose Mainprize - The Rose Fund Shuswap Hospital Foundation In Honor Donation

Cancer survivor Rose Mainprize has been an inspiration to all her friends and fellow 2009 grad classmates during her fight for life from lung cancer. To support her treatments in 2012, a fundraising campaign was launched, including a live auction. Fundraising Coordinator Colleen Making reports that as a result of the success of Rose’s recovery and donations made on her behalf, they wish to establish a permanent ‘Rose Fund’ as a tribute to her courage and determination. $2,400 of the fund will be directed to the Oncology Department at the Shuswap Lake Hospital, for which a Symbic Infusion Device is …read more
