Nimmo, Rosalind Emma

Rosalind Emma Nimmo

August 22, 1937 – July 28, 2025

Rosalind Emma Nimmo (née Eritsland), adored widow, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully in Calgary, Alberta, on Monday, July 28, 2025, at the age of 87. She was reunited quickly with her beloved husband, Bill (William) Nimmo, who predeceased her in May 2025.

Rosalind is lovingly remembered by her children: Bruce Nimmo (Pamela), Heather Welwood (Bruce), and Kathryn Wuolle (Neil). She had seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense joy.

Raised primarily in Lethbridge, Alberta, Rosalind began business school before a charming Scottish-Canadian man, Bill Nimmo, swept her off her feet. They married in a winter ceremony on January 28, 1956, in Lethbridge, and soon moved to Ontario for Bill’s career. Life took off quickly when twins arrived a year later, followed by a son.

Rosalind embraced her role as an “executive wife” with grace and pride, supporting Bill throughout his career with the Royal Bank. She took seriously the responsibilities and etiquette of that position, passing on her values and wisdom to the generations that followed.

A true style icon, Rosalind loved to shop and was known for her elegance and impeccable fashion sense—even in her final days, nurses commented on her flawless skin. Her passion for home décor was evident in the beautifully curated spaces she created — often inspired by the home design magazines she loved to read. She was proud of the design courses she completed, and the trust clients placed in her through various projects.

Rosalind and Bill shared many wonderful years traveling, but her happiest moments were those spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, particularly during visits to West Vancouver, BC, and Salmon Arm, BC. Her wonderful baking treats were always awaiting. She was an energetic and adventurous young grandma, and her favourite song, You Are My Sunshine, continues to be sung across generations.

In her final days, it was her Bible and her cherished book of poetry that brought comfort. Rosalind will be remembered with love as “Mom,” “Grandma,” and “GG” (Great-Grandma)—always ready to have a big hug and a kiss blown from across the room.
